Gary Lee has studied and taught tai chi chuan (taijiquan) for over 20 years. He began learning in both weekly classes and private lessons with well-known Michigan teachers (for example, Han Hoong Wang and Wasentha Young), and then attended dozens of seminars with the best-known teachers of Yang and Chen styles, including Master Yang Zhenduo, Master Yang Jun, Master Chen Xiaowang, and Master Chen Zhenglei. In addition, he has been working for the last 5 years with a well-known martial arts trainer, Mushtaq Ali al-Ansari, whose broad knowledge of both Eastern and Western martial arts has markedly expanded Gary's understanding of the martial side of tai chi.
In addition to his own classes, Gary has taught tai chi for 15 years at GVSU, 20 years for GR Parks & Rec, at several health clubs and YMCAs in the area, and at several retirement homes. So he has taught a wide range of age groups, from pre-teens to centenarians.
